Research and Community Engagement
The Museum conducts formal research activities in the fields of ecology, urban planning and education, which are linked to social and institutional engagement. The Museum coordinated the multidisciplinary diagnosis for UN-HABITAT on the environmental sustainability of Guadalajara and the environmental and risk diagnosis of Cerro del Cuatro urban green space in Tlaquepaque. It also documented the history of environmental sciences in Jalisco and conducted participatory assessments of the needs and aspirations in the neighborhoods near the Museum. Currently, in collaboration with the Tecnologico de Monterrey and the Department of Sustainability and Land Sciences at CUTLAJO, the program 'HUMETAV-CC Training Young Scientists through Citizen Science Project Design' is being developed to contribute to generating common solutions to community socio-environmental issues.
