Mountain Gallery

Mountains have been the last refuges of both biodiversity and indigenous cultures; they also provide water, wood and minerals that support life in the city. They act as corridors and barriers for the movement of animals and people, as well as the dispersal of plants. In this gallery, we will interpret the biodiversity of the temperate and subtropical forests of Western Mexico, learn about the processes that shape mountains through volcanism and tectonics and the management of natural resources. Additionally, in this gallery, we will experience an immersive journey through a natural cloud forest that will harbor live animals and plants. A large waterfall will flow through this gallery and emerge towards the interior canyon of the building. And, if we are brave enough, we will discover surprises underneath the waterfall.
